Art Therapy Services for Primary and Secondary Schools
This page is designed for Head Teachers, SENCOs, and Mental Health Leads looking to commission clinical therapeutic support for their pupils.
I provide professional, compliant, and trauma informed Art Psychotherapy contracts to primary and secondary schools across Derbyshire and Staffordshire, supporting pupils who require intervention beyond standard pastoral care.
Why Art Therapy Works in a School Setting
Art Psychotherapy is highly effective in educational environments because it provides a non verbal route to expression, crucial for pupils who may struggle to engage with talk therapy or who are too overwhelmed to articulate their difficulties verbally.
I offer a secure, creative space where pupils can process:
Emotional Dysregulation and Anxiety: Helping pupils find stability and grounding to manage overwhelming feelings.
Relational and Attachment Difficulties: Supporting healthy connections with peers and staff following complex experiences.
Trauma Histories: Working non verbally to contain and process the impact of past events without the pressure of verbal recall.
Self Esteem and Identity Issues: Building confidence and a secure sense of self, particularly important for adolescents and neurodiverse pupils.
